A Note from the Director . . .
After many years as a live-action filmmaker and visual effects artist, Precipice marks my first experiment in animation. It was created in three months with Unreal Engine, utilizing a combination of high-quality digital assets, performance capture, and traditional keyframe animation. The beautiful musical score was written by the ever-brilliant Brian Lemos and the incredible sound design was crafted by the talented Trey Tayler Smith.

I am deeply indebted to veteran effects supervisor Edward Dawson-Taylor (The Lion King, Jurassic World) and Jacqueline Cooper (Tron: Legacy) for their mentorship through the making of this short film, as well as technical and creative wisdom from Anthony Parisi, Josh Hayes, and Daniel Seehausen. Finally, I am so grateful to each of the film festivals that so graciously welcomed me and this film. It has been an honor to share it with audiences and see their delight first-hand.

Precipice is a visceral glimpse into my imagination. I love that the medium of animation makes it possible for me to bring to life these dreams and share with you this adventure of flying through wondrous and magical worlds!
